Description
Part of a new series of collages/assemblages I'm working on incorporating ladders in a much abstracted fashion.
I don't know if I'm completely satisfied with this one. One of the ones I've really struggled to put together. Now that the exhibitions not long away, (and I've still got 25 frames to make, and mount them in) I guess the pressures a little more on for getting them done. But I don't just want to pump them out to get that number. I think I'd rather make whatever number, then cull if they're not up to scratch. Either way, I'll keep on making up until the show date.
I kind of want these to invite closer inspection, with their ..ahem...secret cavities, so ta speak. But really only works when you see them RL.

I think this is one of the better ones, something about the green in contrast with the more gray colors, and something about the relation of scale between the threads on the green ladder and the large, thick black swirl which frames the top of the assemblage.
